Product Information: List Management and PIN Codes
Overview
When you send direct mail to prospects, you're probably already personalizing the piece with their name, company name, etc. By adding a unique PIN code to each piece, you personalize even further: they can visit your Leadcleaner response page, enter their PIN code, and automatically fill out much of the form, using the information you already have on file for that prospect (See it in action by entering code AB1923 in the pop-up window). It's even easier if you're sending direct email: the link your respondent clicks to visit the form contains a unique PIN code, so they see a form already populated with their data.(See it in action)
Why use PIN codes?
- Track response rate and quality of different lists, offers, and creative materials! (See Tracking Sources for more details.)
- Increase response by making it easier to complete the form
- Improve accuracy of captured data: users are less likely to enter garbage data
- Optionally, you can restrict access to your incentive to respondents with a valid PIN code (useful if you have a valuable offer)
1) Import your lists with three clicks
It only takes us a minute to add your existing lists to Leadcleaner. If you already have your own PIN codes, just let us know which column contains them. Or we can generate PINs for you -- alphabetical, numeric, or alphanumeric; adjacent, or widely spaced. If you do a followup mailing later, no problem: we just append the new records to your existing list! And it's all built in to our flat rate pricing.
2) Map the list to the form
We map each column in your list to a corresponding question: for instance, the column called "Address" might map to the question "What is your mailing address?" We'll ensure that your multiple choice questions match properly to your list data -- i.e., we'll let you know if your question uses short-format state names ("PA"), but your list uses long-format ("Pennsylvania").
Additionally, you can map list columns to hidden form fields -- so if your list contains demographic or source info you don't want to show your prospects, you can match it to invisible fields in your response form, and keep those data in your reports!
3) Measure results
Since we've mapped a Source column in your list to a hidden form field, you can now see exactly which lists are pulling the best, and which ones are delivering the most targeted leads. This methodology is far more accurate than asking respondents to identify the source of their mailing, and far easier than the conventional approach of backmatching users to lists.
